The Oliphant Clan will be holding a Scottish Gathering which will coincide with the Homecoming Event in Edinburgh during 2009.

Our own Gathering will commence on the 20th July 2009 (allowing attendees to travel over the weekend) arrival would be the day before. The Gathering will end on Friday the 31st July 2009.

During our own gathering there will be daily visits to historic Oliphant sites and castles in some of the following places: Linlithgow, Broxburn, The Scottish Borders, Arniston, Bothwell, Ayrshire, Gask, Dupplin, Aberdalgie, Kellie, Crail, Stirling, Forgandenny, Condie, Rossie, Strathallan, Edinburgh and, of course, Culloden where we should find our Clan insignia stone in place at the new visitor information center.

The evening will see us holding ceilidh's, barbeques and lots of other social events.

At the moment we are trying to confirm accommodation arrangements for this exciting event.

In the middle of the two weeks we will have a Clan tent at the 'Homecoming Scotland 2009' Gathering of the Clans Event in Edinburgh which will run between the 25th & 26th of July and will include such events as a Clan parade, convention and pageant to live music, piping and Highland dancing.

Entry is by special passport to this two day event. The cost can vary depending on where you want to sit at the Pageant. So do visit their website at http://www.clangathering.org/ for more information on costs, other Clans attending and events taking place.

All you have to do at present is let us know of your intention to attend which can be done by contacting Mark Oliphant by email at mark.clanoliphant@gmail.com with approximate numbers. If you don't have email then please contact any Clan Officer who will register your intention on your behalf.

Registering will allow us to keep you informed of the future itinerary as the locations we will be attending are confirmed.
